Clow Valve Company’s roots date back to 1878, when it was known as James B. Clow & Sons, a seller of wrought iron pipe and other foundry products.
Clow Valve Company is a U.S. based manufacturer of waterworks valves and fire hydrants with production facilities located in Oskaloosa, Iowa and Riverside, California.
Clow Valve Company’s roots date back to 1878, when it was known as James B. Clow & Sons, a seller of wrought iron pipe and other foundry products. In 1890, Clow added waterworks valves and fire hydrants to its line by becoming a distributor for the Eddy Valve Company. In the 1940s, Clow purchased the Eddy Valve Company, as well as the Iowa Valve Company, and has been manufacturing high-quality valves for the water treatment and wastewater treatment industries ever since.
Today, as part of the McWane family of companies, Clow Valve operates at two locations. The Iowa plants include iron and brass foundries, a machine shop, assembly, finished goods warehousing, shipping and administrative offices. The California plant manufactures and assembles wet barrel fire hydrants and maintains inventories of other Clow products.
MPI is proud to offer a wide range of Clow products – including gate valves, butterfly valves, check valves, eccentric plug valves, and more – which are stocked in MPI warehouses and distribution centers across the United States. Since Clow valves are cast and manufactured in the U.S., they can help meet a project’s AIS and BABA requirements.
